I met the guy backstage when he was playing with the - oh I can't remember - one of the US ska bands. OK gig. But I met him and he seemed like a sad old guy. About ten years ago. Out of his element. It was like, (to me anyway) he was touring with a bunch of young weird people and someone like me backstage who understood his works was weirder still. The guy was not ready for a conversation. Maybe he was stoned. I was a bit bevvied. Who knows?
He seemed very simple (retarded) unlike others I have met. Well, may his god rest him in peace.

Such a beautiful eulogy. Think this might have been better off kept to yourself.

maybe he wasn't "so" blessed to be meeting you ...and answer "What was it like to play with Bob MArley" for the umpteenth million time

he probably didn't like chatting to an annoying man groupie after the gig.
i met him on several occasions and in my fond memories he was open, firendly, witty and told some nice stories about the olden days
RIP mr Adams
