I`ve had this DVD for some time but the picture quality is very poor as it has been made from old video copy.
Has anyone ever seen good copies of this on DVD or has it ever had an official release on DVD as I would love to get a pucker copy as it is one superb documentary?
Its the one that set in Wandsworth and follows Lloydie Coxsone Sound and Young Lion Sound circa 1980.
Great rare footage including interviews with David Rodigan, Lloyd Coxsone, Festus, Blacka Dread, Upton, Stennet, Gappy, Hulk etc.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks
Dave

Brilliant DVD but never seen any other copy that the one you also probably have. Been hoping to see a proper reissue of it.

Sounds like a killer! I'll have to get a copy (poor quality or not). Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

It is. The clip where Festus mixes the Wailing Souls dubs is incredible or when Young Lions test their new speakers lighting a match in front of the bass bin to see how much air it moves. Incredibly cool documentary. But it's barely watchable at parts due to the poor quality.

The best UK reggae documentary ever. Truly evocative of the place and times. Young Lion's Bunny Reds, the tall dreadlocked youth enthusing about the Wailing Soul's Firehouse Rock is still about the place, a real gent. Now a respected face on the underground revive scene. I used to pass by Armoury House in Wandsworth during those days and what I imagined was going on in there actually was what was going on in there, as the film shows. There is some talk that the films maker has plans to release a proper DVD of the film, which would be amazing.
