Hello everyone,
As you may know already, our label Makasound closes. We failed to pass the winter, strangled by debts of more and more important, and undermined by an economy of music production which deteriorates a little more each year for multiple reasons. See in this regard the forum that we published in Libération and which generated many reactions.
Thus the activity of the label stops by legal obligation, and the discs are no longer buying from us. A liquidator has been appointed to settle the accounts and legal society.
We're obviously deeply saddened to be got there, and not able to continue this wonderful adventure. We thank all the artists and producers with whom we loved so much "work", we thank the media who were kind enough to give room for our productions and our talented artists, and of course we thank the public who has often argued over these nine years of encouragement written by strong sympathetic. Not to mention those who worked on our side, often in poor conditions ...: Navy, Aurelian, Cyril, Chloe, Bastien, Audrey, Samuel, Tristan, Carole, Susan, Manon, Antoine
Hoping to find the courage and partners continue to move up or else this adventure enthusiasts, we leave you free to give your opinions / comments in writing to the following addresses: nico@makasound.com and romain@makasound.com
To paraphrase Winston McAnuff, "Sky's the limit! ». Let us seek the optimism and not cry about the past.
Romain Germa & Nicolas Maslowski"
Hmmm. Another reggae label gone.
Never really bought much of their stuff, TBH (got a couple of their CD releases). Always thought that it was rather overpriced and so passed it over hoping to pick up a second-hand copy or find someone selling cheap on eBay.
