Continuing the Rockers Records direction , check out Tapirs Discography with " Rockers " 7" singles . Some of those tracks might feature on your LP , Hans ?

As far as possible I did a check.

Big Roy is on the album (tracks A3 & B4) - same dj voice as on one of the Rockers inches.
Think it's Fitzroy Henry's voice on A4 (not for sure).

I don't "recognize" any of the inches of Tapir's site on the album.

Killer tracks on it. This one is the Rockers label, I guess, because Mike Dorane Reggae time Rockers 1976 has matrix RRLP 3.

Just examined this LP... don't know if I can help much.

Pretty much beyond doubt that this is a Mike Dorane associated LP. The title still eludes me though...
Personally I doubt the title 'Avonmore Dub' as the title of the LP, simply because it contains vocal tracks, though it could refer to the title of one of the tracks?

The matrix number RRLP 2 A1 / B1 more or less confirms it as a Rockers LP (RRLP1 anyone?), and I can confirm that it is an Island records pressing, Rockers were pressed and distributed by Island. Also on the dead wax is 'I-3'(a side),'I-2'(b side) and 'EG' (both sides) which definitely confirm it as an in-house Island pressing.

This copy has the 'pre-release' stamp on the sleeve and 'a' label, it has some indistinct writing on the 'b' label too:
'Doval' at the top and 'eyes of you' next to a very unclear '2' which might be a reference to the title of track B2?
Beyond that I cannot confirm anything except to say I do recognize Big Roy's voice (from 'In The Desert') on two selections.

Yes I agree totally on what you are saying. As for the title I think instead of Avonmore Dub it should be Forever More Dub. Because I believe one of the songs on this LP has got the title 'for evermore'.

This is incredibly late, so I am not sure if anyone will see this but I bet I can clear up why it is called Avonmore Dub. Around the time this was bought in a Virgin shop the Virgin retail chain had its hq in the Avonmore trading estate in W14. I worked there. Part of it was the warehouse which housed small indie labels waiting to go out to the shops and it was also the place returns from shops for indie distributors would be sent. My guess is that someone in the warehouse found a white label pressing that had lost its details and just sent it out, as a bit of an in-joke, as "Avonmore Dub".

Sorry it doesn't explain what the original was...
