Since my old thread inspired by a Gregory Issac lyric got accidentally killed in spam busting I wondered if we could start another thread?
I really enjoyed reading which lyrics move everyone so, what short one or two line lyrics in Reggae really move you?
Right now I'm listening to BMW "Jah Live" and I love (I mean LOVE) the lyric
"The truth is an offense, but not a sin"
I think it may be one of the finest reggae lyrics ever

Yes, great lyrics in a powerful song. One of Bob's best.

Absolutely, one of his best, I think quite a lot of the Jah Live themed songs are very good, the Cimaroons have an excellent song on this theme tooI-Lion Tafari wrote:....is he who laugh last

In the abundance of water the fool is thirsty!
Also some great Bob lyrics:
We're the survivors- in this age of technological inhumanity, scientific atrocity, atomic misphilosophy, nuclear misenergy. It's a world that forces lifelong insecurity.

"Ain't gonna carry your water in a basket no more".
Just a little example of some great lines by Gregory Isaacs.
He could have his own thread on this matter.
The start of Fade Away is unbeatable:
"He who seeks of only vanity and no love for humanity, shall fade away".

I heard Beres Hammond in one of his songs calling out to Freddy McGregor or Gregory Isaacs, singing: "May your food basket never see emptiness".

Heard this song last weekend too. I didn't know what "impede" meant though. Just googled it. Yeah nice lyrics.Congo Bunny wrote:"Let no fear Impede your course"

I heard the Black Uhuru tune called I create yesterday. Puma Jones sings "Freedom of one is the bondage of many". Great line too imho.
