The Revolutionaries - Reaction In Dub

Post by 6anbatte »

Does anyone have or know of this album? http://www.roots-archives.com/release/2904.

It was the first dub album I ever bought. I got it when it first came out, which according the the archives, must have been circa 1978. (I no longer have it as I, foolishly, sold tons of reggae vinyl.) Is it the classic I remember or is nostalgia kicking in here?

If I remember rightly it was dub cuts of Mighty Diamond tracks.

I like this LP, although the lowish price it seems to attract on ebay suggest that others don't consider it a classic.

For me it's a great Revo LP and well worth picking up.

I actually been putting off buying this dub album for awhile and just bought it couple of weeks. It's good dub album.

You can get this easily now through Ernie B for like 9 dollars.

Hi Leggo Rocker and Ranking Toyan

Thanks for the feedback. I have not heard it in years - probably 25! I do remember it being excellent though.

Just checked out the Ernie B site. What a great site. The only downside is that for a $9 album, the postage to England is $30. Ouch!

Hi Jah Glu

Yes, that was a bit of a shock! I get CDs via Caiman USA and the postage costs £1.24! They don't arrive the next day, but as I haven't heard Reaction In Dub for at least 25 years I am not that worried if it takes a couple of weeks to arrive!

Hi Lion

I love the War riddim - Wailing Souls. I do remember that being on the album now. And Mr Bassie. 'Hey Mister Bassie, hey Mister Bassie....
How could i leave? Is that a dub of the Dennis Brown track?

Good idea, I will look into multiple order costings for the future! I will definitely get some albums from there!

Actually, someone has kindly said he will send me an mp3 of Reaction In Dub! I look forward to hearing it. Respec'

Great dub record...and yes, multiple orders are the key to saving on shipping at Ernie's.
