I really wonder why we have been singled out for your comments as both bestones, Craig Moer and others are selling for same prices to same customers. The customer that you have referred to buys all kinds of albums and 7" from numerous dealers in numerous genres of music.
I would say prove your slander or take it off the sight.
We have been a honest source for reggae for over 25 years buying almost entirely in Jamaica. The records that we are selling are pristine never played records that are now over 30 years old. They actually have vinyl shavings around the whole and on the sides from no use.

I would say "judge not" or if you choose to be the judge then at least check fe de truth. We have no influence on any buyers or bidders all sales are just that sales on ebay. Anyone has the right to ask any price they choose whether you think it is fair, reasonable, or just plain crazy.

I can buy this record at any second hand shop for 5 dollars.

You might be able to buy it for five bucks but you don't get anything like that in my local thrift shops or even record shops. That's why eBay has caused prices to inflate, because suddenly all these records have been opened up to a world market.

So if you can get something for a fiver that sells elsewhere for 80 bucks, what's your problem? You are getting bargains. The rest of us are paying the market price.

Yeah about a week ago I looked at their used prices and almost choked. I mean in most cases ebay was 50% cheaper and that's saying something. So, that will be the last time I enquire

No Leggo, the three examples cited are correct. CB 200, Madness and LKJ in Dub doesn't worth 60 or 100 bucks or even more.
Getting them for £10 or £15 is not getting bargains, that IS the price of the market, trying to sell them for more is pure speculation. Those 3 LPs are not rare (Madness a bit more but last time I went to London, few weeks ago, I saw 4 copies in 3 days between £10 and £19).

Talking about those 3 LPs, I got 2 copies of CB200 for less than £6 (one at ebay and another in a shop), LKJ in dub for £8 (in a shop) and Madness for £9 (ebay).

Come on, eb is selling Alpha Blondy's LP for $70. Any second hand store are selling them for 5€ here in France and I've got them easily for 50p in boot sales. Aswad's Distant Thunder worth 1€ and he sells it for $50. His prices are at least twice or three times the price you can get them everywhere you go, that IS speculation.

And to answer recordlikedirt, yes you have an influence on prices by setting them very high at the beginning and I know that you know it, if this has no influence, why not putting $10 when you list a vinyl ?

Anyway, do what you want with those prices, I just won't be a good customer for you, if some people are ready to spend on one vinyl what they could spend on 4 or even more, I don't care. But don't come and explain us that it is the price of the market coz that's definitely not.

If your into your reggae and know what your doing, you should know when your being ripped off.
I wouldnt spend £50 on a tune unless its taken me years and years to find it. And if people are buying tunes from EB at high prices without checking around then they have more money then sense.

But those bids started very low, so the seller has nothing to do with the prices (unless he makes fakes bids). The problem is when the bid starts at a very high price waiting for someone "desperate" enough to pay.
