Each to his own I guess. For me the two Reggae George-tracks are the two favourites with the Barry Brown and Angela Davis coming close second.

May I ask what you had to pay for the album?

Yeah, I actually interview Jason Stuart of the label just some days ago. The album was recorded in late '84 if I recall correctly. Recorded in Channel one and mixed by Peter Chemist. He however recorded some more music some time in '85 (or was it '86?) with the original four track mixer to get that genuine 70's Channel One sound. That material was then mixed at King Tubby's studio. All of these '85-recordings are still unreleased.

I also bought the Humble Commission LP a few weeks ago and I have to say both Reggae George's song were awesome (sounded like his Mix Up album chunes) though Barry Brown's "The Emperor" is my top choice.

Any of those tunes from he LP were released on single?
Would love especially "The emperor" that got a low bass compare to whar it needs for sound system!

They haven't been released on any singles. The label has only released the LP and two 7". One with Midnight Riders and the other a cantankerous single with Deadly (indeed!) Headley.

my good friend michael gardine aka king kush , who owns the late great king kush label is kickin around in jamaica.

on my last visit he gifted me a 45 on the king kush label, reggae george tune called trod it, i believe.

i can link anyone with king kush, also.. he needs a good music lawyer as a singer in quebec has used some of his original songs and hasnt given michael any $$ he is due.

if you can help please contact me.
