Sorry, yes, I always get that mixed up. Thing is, he was supposedly called Ivan 'Stanley' Chin, and then I hear from Dan Neely that the Stanley bit was someone's invention and just a bit of confusion....

But just to correct this 'The name of the bandleader of Chin's Calypso Sextet is Ivan Chin'

Ivan was the producer only, he never had anything to do with the musical arrangement as far as I know (A bit like 'Joe Gibbs and the Professionals'), though he was part of the recording sessions, he spoke to me in an e-mail once about the bad acoustics of a tin roofed shack where he had situated his first 78rpm cutter!.
