Havent noticed anyone mention sound-system MC's/DJ's/singers like Colonel Mite, Peter Bouncer, Captain Leafie, Gadman, Long Man, Dixie Peach.....

I think these guys were involved with Jah Tubbys system in the 80's........and they aalso had some great tuens put out on Jah Tubbys/Y&D record label...

Always wanted to know what that tune was, had it on a RockersFM tape back in about 86 ish I think, any ideas?

I've finally got round to posting one of my London Radio Reggae tapes from the 198Os on YouTube.

It is one of the best best Tony Williams Rockers FM specials featuring the Hi Tech crew.

From memory this was broadcast around November/December 1987. I recorded it at reasonable quality - only some minor interference from the local taxi firm's radios.

Check out the DJs intro to Bounty Hunter at about 2.37. My favourite is at 33.28 where Lesley (aka Leslie aka Lezlee) Lyrics chats on Courtney Melody's Bad Boy about the Hurricane (or not a Hurricane but Hurricane Force winds we were told afterwards) that lashed London & the South East in October 87.

"Inna Inglan we no used to Hurricane, the most we get a thunder, lightning, breeze a likkle rain. But after the other day that there view can't remain cos poor old Inglan would a never be the same. Idiot dem, them a look someone fe blame - someone say a Weatherman now the hol a them shame."

I actually saw the Weather forecast before going to bed the night before and next morning woke up to all the destruction around SE London.

Sorry about the jumpy video - it will have to do for now. I'll post some more 80s radio sessions when I get around to it including Sky FM a local (SE London) pirate station with DJ Daddy Big Hat and live MCing from Yabba Yout'.
