Thanks, Geoffrey! I would add that this album never was properly finished and as a result Scratch wasn't happy with it being released. I do like a few songs on this album, but it's for serious Scratch fans only. Certainly it's a weird choice for a re-release!

Has it ever been released on CD before? You know how when you download an album, sometimes it comes with scans of the inserts/lyrics sheet/etc.?

The one I saw had a scan of a CD tray insert with it.

agree - with the sleeping perry fan - for serious completists only - no where near the quality of "return of superape" or "roast fish...." ....

its my view these days that there are only two types of music "stuff you like" and "stuff you don't like" - so I would of course say give it a listen and see what you think!

Would that they released something good like perry's album with george faith, or perry's album with lion zion, or his album with the Jolly brothers. . . Why does so much good reggae remain unreleased and so much crap and medioca reggae keep on getting re-released over and overt

I remember being quite unimpressed with the Lion Zion album when I heard it about ten years ago- I may think differently now but it's not top of my list of music to revisit. Congo Bunny- the other two ones you mention are favourites of mine as well but have been available intermittently over the last few years. I guess Honest Jons can only issue what they can first license and what they think will sell enough copies to make that effort worthwhile.

I love the lion zion album one of perrys better (albeit partial) productions

its not just perry albums, try getting cornell campbell albums. All you can seem to get is the same 30 or so songs re-hashed over and over in different compilations

I wish there was a re-issue label with vision and money.

Honest Jon's has done some brilliant re-issues, TSOSA and Dadawah spring to mind those re-releases are worth their weight in gold

It would be great to see that Jolly Brothers LP re-released with a few bonus tracks. The Lion Zion LP is pretty good, more of a curiosity than a really classic Black Ark album, IMO.

Jolly Brothers is enjoyable... it has that nice nyahbinghi vibe going on (only the Black Ark recordings of that album). I can't say the same about the Lion Zion LP.

I'd like to see more Candy McKenzie tunes. Rumours say she did an album for Island records, but it never got released.
