i think so too. but the track is a killer so we can grant the congos a likkle poetic licence i guess. lol

Thanks for all the hints and suggestions. the corn-fed CDr is also very rare at this times an impossible to fetch. Praises for Renatar567's channel on YT who features 12 of the 14 tracks from the CDr. Thanks to danielindelions for the link.

yes! just gave a listen to all the tracks on Renatar567's YT channel... thanks for posting the path to it...
really clean mix - NOT what i'm used to for sure! the harmonies and percussion really come out in the original mix!!

The first mix is soooo much better to my ears, it's a real roots album, as opposed to a Perry black ark mess of whirling fx

I love the remix - almost psychedelic and much more interesting to me!:D
But then I also listen to rock/prog/psych/jazz and other music as well as reggae...

@ blackarkrock I love the George Faith album for that, I think it represents a peak in his engineering being more important to the sound of the album than what the musicians are playing.

I like the second mix of heart of congos too, I just prefer the cleaner roots feel of the first mix

I think I have to listen to Super Eight/To be a lover now this afternoon
