Dear Community,
Does someone know any more Versions/Dubs for Congos/Perrys "Ark of the covenant" Masterpiece? (Except the well known "Noah sugar pan" dub on the B+F release)
Any help on this research is highly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance to all the Reggae lovers out there.
The extended version on the Heartbeat CD is made up from both sides of the single.
An alternate mix of the track appear on the early mix of the album (Black Art LP 4049).
The definitive release of the album on B&F feature the original extended mix, which features a terrific dub part, and I always thought the dub could last a bit longer as it fades out very slowly.
Have also read about the "first ever" version on LP4049 in the Reviews section on the Discogs Master page for the Album. I never listened to this version, because the original Vinyl is soo rare. Thank you, Nicholas for pointing this out again here.
I have the B&F release of the album, which is amazing on all counts, but is the VP LP/CD actually a different mix as sometimes noted? Or is it just different in the quality of the mastering?

Different enough mix to warrant having them BOTH! the B&F reissue is the definitive, IMHO - NOT just because of the extra disc, but really has a warmth that is lacking on the VP release. Just own them both, it's OK
i still want to know why the congos don't know the difference between noahs ark and ark of the covenant, even i know that and i'm a staunch atheist. lol
