benji, there can't be any form of comparison between frech reggae,uk reggae and ja;that woulb very subjective to me.but to be honest this tune "move"is really a tune to be reckoned with ,considering the year of release(1983)when african reggae had not taken the charts by storm(alpha blondy, ismael isaacs and the keita brothers, tchiken jah fakoly, lucky dube).to be honest i prefer the tune"move"which is truer to the reggae beat than a music from benin reggae artist yaya az for instance.
cloud 7 from nigeria did a good album back in the mid 70's with"groovy lady""beautiful woman" and so on,but failed to carry the swing and we heard no more from them ever since.there has been a nice cadence/reggae band from the french west indies(guadeloupe i think) calledmidnight groovers with akiller tune called"dreadman freedom"who heard or remember or have the album from this group?
i think we have to be honest and recognize the value of this group gunsmoke, even though the singing style may not be that captivating.

i think also that camerounese saxophonist should be haile as being the second french-based artist to have recorded in jamaica right after serge gainsbourg back in 1979"gone clear":manu va ala jamaique featuring boris gardener, michael richards etc...
