Re: George Faith in the Archive Section
I have that, so it can't be rare. The CD from HipO Select sounds like something to get, since all the records are banished to the shop where the turntable lives. Mine is a Mango record, the old palm tree/shanty label. I don't understand why they changed the label in the 80s to that other boring thing.

Hi there 6anbatte,
Sorry about the delay in replying, but I work alternate week night & day shift.Yes, I am in the U.K.I ordered direct from HIP-O select, but I had to E-mail them to get pukka ordering info.Got there in the end!!
I really would recommend persevering though, because it really is a good buy. Excellent sleeve notes by David Katz,an extra cut of "To Be A Lover" @ over 9 mins.30s long and a Ltd.Edition of 3000(mine is No.130). Go get it and enjoy!
Take care
Love and Peace
Trevor

Hi Trevor
No probs, thanks for the pointing me in the right direction. They told me they wouldn't send it to the UK, but I have ordered it and am having it sent to a mate in the States who is coming over shortly here!! Probably a bit of a round about way of doing things, but I have "Don't Be Afraid" and "To Be A Lover" and definitely need more!

Odd. I ordered and reeived a package from Hip-O Select some while ago. Maybe they've stopped shipping here.
As for George Faith.
This man has a great voice, wonderful singing style and once combined with Genius Perry his work is superb. Even without Lee Perry his work is well worth collecting.
I have several 12 inch 45s, 7 inch 45s and a few LPs by this man. Some of the LPs are not really reggae, more soul, but his voice carries it off.
And Fadel, PM me if you want some of his stuff...
