Selecta-Bing . Like you I've got In the Mix (Keyman Dub Series Chapter 1).
On the subject of Rasta Train - Raphael Green/Tado
the Disco Jam pre-release, which I've got was just short of 8 minutes 30 seconds, the general release was a bit longer but as far as I can tell from hearing both the only difference was that they didn't fade out the rhythm so quickly. There are no extra vocals from Alimantado on the longer version.

Rob

Re: Dr Alimantado House of singles
Just taken delivery of this and about to give it a spin.
Probably the best liner notes I have ever read.
Tado paying a shed load of money for "No Gwan Soh" at a Belguim record fair!!!!!
Again, thanks for the heads-up Lion.

From the liner notes to "House of.."
"Perry and Bunny Lee along with other producers made it clear they always valued the toaster's opinions and often took his ideas on board, while Tado often bought cuts of Perry's and other producers rhthm tracks acquired for his own productions.
According to Alimantado, the re-cut of "Rude Boy Train" as "Rasta Train" by Raphael Green and the version of Augustus Pablo's "Vibrate On" that would become "Reggae Music" by Hugo Blackwood were the result of a deal between the two, whereby Tado purchased cuts of the rythms for his own use (paying someting like JA$250 each, a lot of money in those days, as one pound was worth about one dollar thirty cents).
Financial circumstances saw the two tracks left somewhat unfinished, but Perry eventually issued them on an extended Upsetters Jam 12 inch, because, Perry later admitted, he felt they were too good a songs to leave on tape."
Incidentally, "Rasta Train (Step It Outa Babylon)" on "House of Singles" lasts 6 minutes and 11 seconds with Tado's toast coming in immediately. There isn't even a musical intro. Raphael's vocal kicks in after approximately 45 seconds.
Raphael Green & Dr. Alimantado - "Rasta Train" from "Arkology" lasts 4 minutes and 55 seconds with Raphael's vocals kicking in at approximately 15 seconds after a musical introduction.

Liner notes are great stuff.
You get the info most of the time out the firsthand.
Inlay notes by the House of singels are from Tado and David Katz.
