This discussion about Take a ride is long one.
Even Al Campell him self say that he don't sing Take a ride.

Here the inlay info Soul Jazz/Studio One Roots 2

Apperently not the same Al Campbell who recorded for Coxsone a part of the Thillers in the '60.
Little know about this guy on this impassioned vocal plea for unity found previously amongst the tresure on the Studio One compilation Pirate Choice(Best of studio one vol 4). And perhaps better recognised as the rhythm on the title track of Johnny Osbourne's classic truths and Rights set.

I've wondered if it was a different Al Campbell on 'Take a Ride'..the dancehall figure sings an octave lower or so on his albums, while its obvious the Studio 1 classic is in a high voice...

...I have a cut of Cool Conversation by Al Cambell from the early 80s and he sings falsetto (very high)!

Hi guys,

I don't think it's the same Al campbell for i always did find the voice pitch to be different than the popular Al campbell.
And garnetalon i difinitly don't believe it's Freddie Mckay also.

Respect.

One thing is 100% certain - if there are two Al Campbell's they both recorded at Studio 1.
