True, Leggo. I remember hearing Bob talk about how they had a limited number of mics and that it was basically a 'live' recording. Having done some 4-track recording at home, I can appreciate the skills of the engineers.
Peace.

Yes, Big Krawl, those guys really made a lot from very little.

But that's typical isn't it? Those with everything can't do anything, and yet those with nothing, can usually do anything.

Or in other words, resourcefulness comes from a lack of resources!

...if you get my drift.

Hi Leggo Rocker

"Those with everything can't do anything..."

Fans of Gram Parsons (Ingram Cecil Connor III) might disagree with you there! ;-)

Why 6anbatte? Was he from a privileged background?

I've never heard his stuff (knowingly) so was he REALLY any good? Or just using his privilege to make it (as so many have done). And it is always so much easier to play the part of the struggling artiste when you've got a huge trust fund to fall back on!

Rags to riches, except maybe in Reggae music, isn't the norm for show business - or any type of business.

I was gutted to find out that 'gritty working class Yorkshireman' actor Sean Bean was the son of no less than a steelworks owner - ie: rich.

Sorry, are my working class roots on show here?

:)

Hey Leggo Rocker

He inherited millions and, probably annoyingly for us romantics, did the untoppable by inventing a genre. Top that!

Mind you, by the age of 26 he was dead!
