you cant seperate roots and jah if you do that it just becomes a different form of reggae that doesnt go by the title of "roots", still reggae though.

I believe that roots is sufferation music and can indeed by separated from Rasta.

it seems to me like some heptones lp's like Night Food and Party Time are not too focused on religious lyrics. both are killer sets!

I listen to both the political music and the Jah music. I did come to Reggae by way of the political, and still listen to that a bit more.
Lots of down-pression these days, so maybe that's also why.
