I have to say, I think Salue to King Tubby is a great album. The production is amazing - and it sounds to me like the singers are on top of their game. Just listen to Jonny P on Member King Tubby and how tight he is... the vocals and drums play off each other perfectly. Soundclash Dubplate Style is probably more rounded as an album, but nuff respect for the theme and performances of Salute.

Why do people consider Nitty Gritty a digital era artist, i understand thats where he had most success but i believe he was on the scene from the mid 70's with the Soulites

I think "Taurus Presents A Salute To King Tubby" is a good LP, especially Super Chicks - you shouldnt do it.

Also; the king tubby presents soundclash style part 1 + 2
original (im sure) was released on Taurus, which is the version i have, much better pressing then the more recent firehouse pressing.

The tunes that stick out on that lp are of course Michael bitas - Die Yu Die and Johnny Osbourne - Line Up (line up has been released on 7" recently under a different name) though their all very good.

I've never seen Die Yu Die on 7" but theres a killer dub for it (on the counter part dub LP) which sounds great if you cue them up together right.

Who said Pre-Dennis Brown, didn't he sing with Dennis & George Nooks around 74, there is also a Stereophonic dance that was posted in another board where he goes by the name of "ARTIBELLA" (No Kidding). Black Star the sound system has his specials from 79

My point being he just didn't "Buss" as they say like other artist who managed to have a succesful solo career like for example Anthony Johnson when he left the Mystic Eyes
