I don't like the atmospheric/ambient-sounding near-dub that's so prevalent now but I do like some of the heavier and roots-ier stuff that is out there. A good example is McPullish's "Back To Mount Zion" riddim. The vocal tracks are pretty nice (Chezidek, Luciano, Fantan Moja, Ginja, ...) but the dubs are killer! The B-side of the Luciano cut called "Just Dub On" puts some flute in the mix that sounds incredible!

current dub means HIGH TONE (great french band)...
their first album is brilliant... next ones tend to mix dub with other influences...
you should really try it, they've got a big big sound!

All of those great king Tubbys Dubs were the instrumentals of great songs. There was no such thing as a producer of dub, just an engineer mixing the b side.
Nowadays dub is lacking in Song and should just be called experimental reggae or something like that
One of the only producers of modern dub concentrating on the song first is Ryan Moore of twilight Circus.

The Twilight Circus stuff is OK, but the production is a bit weak, no disrecpect intended.
