the Defenders, had never heard of them in my 30+ years of being a serious reggae fan. This tune is a wicked track, don't know how these guys escaped being discovered earlier, but I am giving thanks for being able to hear them now.

As for other Micron releases that are not on this comp, Pressure Sounds just reissued this killer 7" of The Waling Souls & Joe Higgs recording under the name "Attaras".

The info on the site says it came out on Joe Higg's "Elevation" label, but the original 7" that I saw at Roger Steffen's house (and the one pictured in the youtube clip below) is on the Micron label, and the group name was spelled "Attamas".

mine is also on micron but i suspect pressure sound put their brimstone and fire reissue on an elevation to play up the higgs connection more. would make sense. i do recall someone telling me years back that is was issued on elevation also but i've never seen or otherwise heard of a copy.

agreed with the others, pretty sure the defenders tune is led by vin morgan at studio first. lovely tune.

was planning on including BOTH of these in an upcoming podcast, now i feel like follow fashion monkey.
