I suggest:
respect mr. Ellis, don't spread the rumour about his so-called dead but give him all the power he needs.

Re: ALTON ELLIS R.I.P.
I was Alton's Bass player on his last Uk shows and anyone that was there witnessed that he was not very well,he should not have been onstage that night but refused to let the paying punters down.
While Alton rested between tunes, his son Chris kept the vibes flowing and anyone that was there witnessed a night to remember.
I will miss Alton dearly but i'm sure Chris will continue to fly the flag.

Very sad indeed.
I've always been touched by the music Alton Ellis made and luckily i saw him last year on stage - for the first and last time.
I put together a short memorial mix (bout half an hour) with some of his songs; just my way to say: Thank you Alton! May you rest in peace!
Download:
www.reggae-party.de/radio/AltonEllisMemorialMix.mp3
Playlist:
01 Alton & The Flames - Cry Tough
02 U Roy - Wake The Town
03 Alton Ellis - Girl I've Got A Date
04 Alton Ellis - Let Him Try
05 Alton Ellis - Ain't That Loving You
06 U Roy & Alton Ellis - Ain't That Loving You
07 Alton Ellis - Working On A Groovy Thing
08 Alton Ellis - Live & Learn
09 Alton Ellis - Black Mans Pride
10 Alton & Hortense Ellis -Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
11 Alton Ellis - Get Ready
12 Alton Ellis - Alphabetically Yours
13 Alton & New Establishment - ABC Version

I was never fortunate enough to see Alton live, but this album over the years has had a real impact on me.
[cover=3189,2027]
A truly wonderful album by a masterful artist.
RIP Mr Ellis, you have started a New Day in another place but your music will remain here with us always.
Respect always
Dave
