Again, I would recommend you the "Rough Guide To Reggae" book written by Steve Barrow which is still available.

I'm just saying do I have to read a book? I'm a student and I have tons of school books to read, I mostly get time to listen to this songs on my long ride to school.

I'll probably read the book later on but not until this semester is over. Thanks anyway.

There are a lot of sites with reggae music with sound samples of LP`s like Ernie B.

Its like with a lot of LP`s there may be 4 or 5 really good tracks which a lot of the time are on 7"s and 12"s with dubs. Another place before you buy anything is Ebay and a lot of the sellers have sound samples.
Like all good old school hip-hop was heard on the radios and at block parties first and if you liked something one would go and buy it. It`s the same with reggae.
But like the wise heads have said you got to find out whats your own taste and style in reggae its such a wide style of music from vocal groups, to toasters (DJ`s) singers, dub, and all from differant periods of time from the 60`s to the 2k from real instruments played live and digital, from roots to lovers, to freedom songs and JAH, from Ragga to Rasta music.
If you know music, any music you knows whats good for you.

I have listened to hip hop, until I heard this album:

And now I have a pretty large collection, and I almost never listen to hip hop any more. So beware!
