While it may not be considered proper singing technique, I know, I must say that for some reason, I love that "nasal tone" delivered by some of my favorite reggae artists like Little John, Junior Reid, Etc.... -A unique vocal styling, Indeed!

Little John is great. One of my favorite dancehall singers from the early 80's. I can't imagine anyone thinking he ruins the George Phang comps. I don't mind his congested voice and sometimes off key vocals. It's all about style and he has it. If you ask me, if anyone stands out as weak on the George Phang comps it's Michael Palmer. How many songs on those four volumes does he do with the exact same tired pattern? I used to like Michael Palmer a lot, until I heard a lot of him and realized how limited his style was. I guess lots of these singers can be pretty one-note, maybe it just comes down to if you like that note!
