How often do you listen to other types of music?

Must admit reggae probably makes up only about 10% of my music, er, *collection*. That said, I do own a ***lot*** of music!

Reggae is the most interesting to talk about thanks to RA, but I suppose with me it's about 30% reggae, 30% soul, 30% "house" and its many variants and 10% just about anything (Hendrix, blues/rock etc).

off and on - many kinds of music but reggae is the music that body and mind respond to naturally.

in tracing the roots, i've discovered the great music out of the U.S. from the 40's to 60's that was played on the original JA sound systems. Stuff like jump jive and early R & B melding jazz, blues, rock & roll and big band sounds.

Some reggae artists like Larry Marshall and Cornell Campbell started by recording these styles even before ska.

To put it in a simple way, i'd say I listen to reggae for 80% to 90% of my musical listening time. The other 10-20% I divide into hip-hop/punk/rock/folk and also some brazilian music.

I'd say 65% reggae, 35% hiphop/funk/gospel

and its possible for me to mix all dem in one day.

i do really feel at home with jazz as much as reggae.i enjoy the old rock steady and studio one stuff,the 70's reggae classics as i do with any classic blue note or cti album for instance.music is music and needless to say there are highlights in every music genre you can think of.soul music funk rythm and blues afro beat highlife bossa nova etc...

3% some Miles, acoustic guitar stuff, cuban vibes with strong Reggae influence ), Tracy Chapman, Santana 3-4 times a year.
Forgot to mention my girlfriend rehearses trumpet at home...

Everyday. But I'll admit, I go through phases of weeks or months of genre specific listening.
