I remember that Sengal trip like it was yesterday.I'm the bass player and vocalist.Saly Portudal was the best.Just like my home in Dominica. The other guys are doing good and we still keep intouch up to this day. We're in the early stages of trying to record a couple songs together.Stay tuned.Blessings.

I have their CD in my van, i just listened to it on my way home. I heard them play in Chapel Hill NC and in Raleigh NC back in 89. I remember Robin played with them. Their poster still hangs in my den. They still sound relevent. Sorry to hear about the car accident, but glad to hear everybody survived. I'd travel a great distance for a reunion concert.

Peace. Good to see Brian and desi post here. I rode with Moja Nya on the Rock Against Reagan / Rock Against Racism tour in early 1984. I particularly recall the events and hanging out around New Orleans and Jackson Mississippi. A few of us got arrested Easter Morning for the alleged crime of Sleeping in a Vehicle... our school bus/camper. Anyway, lost track of you all after we got back to NYC, though I picked up a 12" of Rise Up sometime in the late -90's. Been involved in music ever since. Always learning from your message of peace. Bless. Always. Rich

I saw Moja Nya a few times when they came through Knoxville around '86 to '88. Still one of the best reggae bands I've seen live. I can remember "Are you really roots" like I just heard it yesterday. Great memories.

Re: about a band called Moja Nya
I promoted a Burning Spear show in 1987 ( People Of The World Tour) here in South Bend ,Indiana and Moja Nya was the opening band. I also have the their record, I think it might be a 12" 45rpm, have to dig that one out !
A few years later I would book a Chicago reggae band Gizzae, and come to find out their bassist, was none other than Brian 'Rocket'. We reminisced about that Burning Spear show in'87 , small world.
