hey will
i am glad i could help, even though i am of limited knowledge myself.
i cannot really answer your questions in regards to the rastafarian aspects...i am not of rastafarian religion.
i personally don't follow the philosophies of heaven and hell, creationism, and other certain beliefs that are taught in christian-based religion...but that is just me and i don't ever judge others that do such, just as i would hope no one would pre-judge me based on my spiritual philosophies.
i do believe that there have been many great men (and women) who have preached important life philosophies, which many religions have been based on. in my opinion, the most important message that seems shared by all or most of these great people has been the message of 1. love and compassion, and 2. each and all of us are the same and the divine alike, and 3. there comes a time when each of us recognizes such things and takes it to heart in daily living.

but, each person should choose his or her own path in that respect.
some are rastas, some are buddhists, hindus, christians, jews, etc...
as long as the hearts are full of light and love then in my opinion the path chosen is good.
but you would have to ask some rastas where your views would stand in regards to your specific questions.

again, just my opinions, as fuzzy as they are.

peace,
ape

Will, did you know that in old testament in hebrew the Israelites use the word "Jah" as a shorter version of "Jahovah" which means God.

So basically if you don't believe in Selassie I or Marcus Garvey but believe in Jah... you're closer to the jewish than rasta.

Jah is a shortened form of the name Jehovah,

In the Psalms King David Refered to Jehovah as Jah, and he is one God, that had no beggining! Him the only one that can turn aff the Sun! The sun that lights the world everyday~.Marvel at Jah's intenetion for mankind all you want you as a man will never fully grasp the true meaning of the multifaceted power of love! True one LOVE!
One God! So many promises that we can't even begin to phathom, the vastness of his wisdom and all of his creative works!~ Even Jesus proclaimed that he was the SON of GOG-Jah, Jah's Bright and morning star! If we could have truly Jah Love we would not have any of the sick twisted demonic things that take place on this planet the Jah Created! so much disrespect so much pain. It seems another Day another heartache! Jah -Short form or Jehovah which name means he causes to become! He is the only one top fix all the ills of this dying society Of men undergoing certain death. If not for Jah's love we as a human race would not have a hope for the future! Jah Is KING for all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rastafari Words are for everyone but to be a Dreadlocks Ras Ta is only for those who are chosen. Those people know themself, if you are unsure then leave it and just be a cleanheart human. to be Ras is more than going by the words alone. you have to know yourself & your root.

If you ras up be aware of a thousand test.. but only those who are chosen will stand those test. seen

no need to Ras up the head to be a good man.
not every one is designed to be a high priest.

one love

you can´t be rasta if you don´t beleave that haile selassie was christ. rastas took the name of the emperor rastafari makonen, as they were their followers. To me is impossible beleave in this because christ will come only in the end of the times, not in form of a rich emperor to take the black people back to africa. I see it like a form of take the people to the wilderness and take them away from the true christ of the bible. god revealed itself in israel not in ethiophia. so what´s the problem? the people in jamaica that not have a strong relegious beleaves were trick into the rasta moviment only to make rich the older leaders. I say this: he who believe in selassie is wrong. do you really think selassie is god? c´mon man. dont let them fool you.
