I think Don Carlos is solo much better than Michael Rose. He went too far in the dancehall. And i think that doesn't fit to Michael Rose. But you must try the "African Roots" Album. It's a 100 % Reggae Album by Rose

I agree with John Public, i got the African Roots album from Michael Rose and it's a pure killer.

First, scuse my poor english...
I don't understant how people can prefer Black Uhuru with Don Carlos. He is certainly a best solo singer, but Black Uhuru is more than a singer performance ! There is a mountain between Black Uhuru sound at 77-84 period and after 84. For me, it's more on account of digital sound than don's performance.

my top 5 :

1.Red
2.Black sound of freedom
3.Sinsemilia
4.Anthem
5.Guess who's coming...

For me, the best album without Michael is Unification, with Andrew Bees

with that I don't agree with you nattybwoai, the time with andrew bees was nice, but it was nothing with the time with don carlos & garth dennis or junior reid. But I agree with you that Don Carlos is much better when he was Solo

YES THATS VERY TRUE DON ACRLOS DID DO AN OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE GOING ON A SOLO CAREER. BUT NOW, IRON STORM, MYSTICAL TRUTH, AND STRONGG R GOOD ALBUMS BECUASE JUST THE FACT THAT THEY ARE THEE ORIGINAL BLACK UHURU AND PEOPLE GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR THAT AND THEY ENJOY THEIR STYLE ALSO BECAUSE THEY COULD OF MADE ALL THESE SONGS BETTER BACK IN THEIR EARLY DAYS. BUT DON CARLOS OVER MICHAEL ROSE ANYTIME. IF IT WASNT FOR DON CARLOS IO GUESS U CAN SAY MICHAEL ROSE WOULD OF NEVER HAD A CAREER NEITHER WOULD OF PUMA JONES.

Black Uhuru with or without both Michael rose and Don Carlos did some oustanding music (thanks to Junior Reid, sly & Dunbar). The fact that Don Carlos was an original member makes it hard for people to like Mykal Rose as much, because the first Black Uhuru album was great. Wait... Does anyone wonder what Black Uhuru could have been with both Mykal & Don in the line-up(Minus their egos). I have heard many solos from both artist and I have to admit that they are both very creative and good as soloist.
As far as my opinion goes i have enjoyed great UHURU's music in the time of both artist.

Lastly.. yes Mykal is back touring with Black Uhuru but i don't think any album is on the way soon.
