LOL !
"Stick a bush" is officially about the fact that everyone has his/her mate somewhere.
Never read Albert Griffiths explaining the song had a hidden meaning, which I highly doubt : the man is always writing his songs with that kind of (rural) proverbs.

I for one don't buy the cricket explanation. Cricket at night? Anyone with any experience of cricket will tell you that it's pretty impossible without a very well floodlit cricket pitch, something that would probably not be available to the average Jamaican in those days.

If PT were alive today, he'd probably *say* that it was about cricket, if an interviewer asked him - but he'd have a cheeky smile on his face.
Remember how Max Romeo said that 'Wet Dream' was about fixing a leaky roof?
Dunno if you've ever heard the song 'Dancing With Myself' - it's obviously about masturbation but Billy Idol has always been coy about it and explained that it's about a guy he saw in a club in Japan who was dancing alone.

This thread really sucks
Come on guys I have enough of dealing with w@nkers at work all day without reading about them here when I get home.
Lets have a "Mass Debate" on a more interesting topic
BTW, I too thought Ketchy Shuby was something to do with cricket as i`m sure I read that somewhere

Cricket?
Just to remind everyone what they are talking about, heres the lyrics again:
"come make we play some ketchy shuby
and when we shuby you feel ketchy
and when you ketchy don't make it drop
cause if it drop it will pop
and if it pop no one can mend it
cause if them mend it you can easily bend it
so we all go ketchy ketchy shuby shuby tonight
all night long we go ketchy ketchy shuby shuby tonight
tell my if you like it ketchy ketchy shuby shuby tonight
me, I, you have to ketchy ketchy shuby shuby tonight
it don't take too long to learn
just do as I say
it may only take one hour or two
but the next time you will know what to do
"

Naw man, reggae has its fair share of dirty songs. You could probably fill an entire CD of smut by Dillinger alone.
Trojan has *two* 3CD X-rated box sets... heh
