Hi,

I think this thread has gone far enough, this forum was created for lovers of reggae music who wish to exchage views and knowldge about the MUSIC.

What good can this thread achieve other than to cause ill feeling and bad will between the people who use this site.

Lets show more respect for each other and get back to talking about the music.

The music is the common language of this site irrespective of nationality, patios, religion or gender.

Resepct to you all

Hi Fabroots,

I`m chilled and haven`t got a problem with you or anyone on this site.

However, I do think you are missing the point slightly.

By getting involved in these types of topics it can only cause bad will between fellow members (look at your last response to pupa pisces)

In a few weeks time you may put up a thread asking a question or requesting information on a partucular topic. This guy pisces may have the answer to your question, Is it now likely to give you the answer ?

That then defeats the whole purpose of having the forum in the first place.

I think the best way to deal with this is when someone has posted a thread and it is clear it could cause hostility, either report it or don`t respond. If no one responds to these threads then they just die.

I say again, it is about the music, the sharing of knowledge and the togetherness. That is what the people on this site have always been about and thats what has made it so great.

Respect to you always

Well, i dont have the habit to speak the half of my ideas, and more why we have to accept this form of snobism from papa pisces and shut up??
This form of different language is just a way for make more difference and looking original, in his mentality papa pisces cant like all the people as he like his friends able to speak same sleng i bet, then if he put some barriers he give me too the temptation to jump it! ^^
Now i dont hate him or considere him as inferior or something, here we speak about music habitually, but if we have to agree to all subjects where somebody speak about stuff where evrybody can have a different opinion the subject being just a demonstration of "knowledge" in a unique sens.. :/

Matthew: it wasn't meant as a 'low blow'.
I meant to say, I think it's funny to see people writing 'patois' instead of the 'usual' english.
I surely don't mind them doing so. I didn't want to offend anyone with my remark.

Hi Fabroots

I agree, we should all have our own opinions and be able to voice them.

If we was all of the same opinion and shared the same tastes then the forum wouldn`t have much to say.

But there is a difference between constructive feedback/opinions and some of the comments which have been posted on this thread.

I just feel that threads like this are not constructive, they create friction instead of togetherness, they have nothing to do with the music and don`t really have a place on this forum.

If people on this forum choose to talk in patois when they can infact speak plain English then that is their choice.

At the end of the day, they are the ones who will lose out by not getting responses to their posts because people cannot decipher what is being said. This is nothing to do with ignorance but a lack of understanding of peoples native tongue.

This is just my opinion and is not intended to cause offence.

Respect Always.

this one goes out to the one Fabricatedroots,
yuh talk some big talk, far a bwoy who show ignarance an talk bout "my stupid language". dun tink yuh jus insulting mi, but yuh insulting everyone else who is jamaican an does speak patois. an chooses to speak in that manner. wherever yuh come fram, whichever french colonized island yuh come fram, haiti, wherever. mi dun cyare where yuh fram, na mi talkin' yuh as a person, dun start critisize mans talk, or how him talk, coz it involve my roots, my kulcha. an how i am proud to speak how i speak. so if yuh gone insult mi, insult mi directly as a person, nah fe mi language of origin. as i am now located inna uncle sam, i still never forget myself, an where mi come fram. so dun tink in any shape or form that yuh is better than mi, coz the wey yuh talk, yuh sound ignarant.

Well, its not important to me, i dont considere it stupid when the guys use only some words naturally and use the one with their original form with there original writting (you cant make me thinking that you really dont know how write "way" in english, i dont believe), i just blame the reason for transform original word in different writting with same sound, "dem" for "them" i understand, but "wey" for "way" no...
Have fun, and by the way im proud then to be an "ignorant" lol ;)
