We were always changing drummers.
When Grennan left there was a drummer from the army.
We call him Ducky ican’t remember why we call him Ducky.
By that time Hugh Malcolm was out of it and than Paul Douglas came along.
There was Tinleg there was a drummer Fergie.
Fergie was Lynn Tait’s drummer.

How about Tinleg /Lloyd Adams?
Tinleg wasn’t a great,great drummer.
At the bottom of the ladder he was no Winston Grennan, no Paul Douglas,etc.
Yunno what I mean!
And ehen Tinleg get a session it’s when other guys can’t not make it yunno?
But he was a nice guy quiet yunno he wanted to learn.


I hope that i can find more about Tinleg.

That's interesting because in the liner notes to Sly & Robbie's Taxi Sound - http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3955#rel4480 - Sly says Tinleg was a very good drummer.

Sly also says that he (Tinleg) was the RHT Invincibles drummer and he (Sly) only sat in because Tinleg had gone home early. It doesn't say why he had gone home early.

That seems to totally contradict what Jackie Jackson says/

It sounds as if that was when Tinleg was young. After all Winston Grennan was his tutor.

I assume Sly is referring to a period much later than Jackie Jackson's referring to ie when Tinleg has developed as a drummer.

It's always a part of a story.
He was waiting for a chance to play.
Like all singers and players do.
Learn & play the way up.

First: jackie jackson speaks about the beginning of Tinleg teaching drums.Second point, a drummer who is not good can't playes with the Upsetters, the Wailers, Inner Circle and the Rockers Uptown.No?!

He is actually my favourite drummer. His snare drum sound is as good as it gets to my ears.

while, i know very little about him, his drumming blows my f###ing mind!!! Look no further than king tubby meets rockers uptown, i've never heard syncopation like that in my life

Just bought "People Funny Boy" by Dave Katz and am pleased to report, after a quick gander at the index, Tin Legs gets 5 mentions. I'll keep you posted.
