Grasshopper obviously you aren't up with the latest reissues from the labels I listed.

p.s I love plenty other genres of music too & have been collecting for well over 30 years. The reason for his lack of reggae may not have anything to do with non reggae genres in his stock - I really don't care what the reason is, it just sucks that I can no longer buy the reggae music I love from EB's & I've been supporting him since before he was on the net .

Re: Ernie B's...reggae?
I can't speak of the smaller 7" labels but he's def. carrying Iroko, BuyReggae, only roots and Tuff scout. He's got D Brown's Deep Down, he's got the U black, the Wayne Smith, the Nicodemus lp, he's had the Augustus Pablo OR, The Pablo Moses RD, etc.....Those are the latest lp reissues, as far as i know. He's never carried all the singles on some of those labels and perhaps he doesn't sell enough to justify importing them.
I feel your pain in that i'm bummed he's not distributing Pressure Sounds, but i really don't think the other stuff you're saying is accurate. Also maybe some of these changes are not entirely his decision. For example, perhaps PS decided they wanted to be distributed by someone else and said, sorry that's it. You and i really have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. (or maybe you do, but i don't (: )
Also the new releases don't seem to come into stock as fast as they used too. I'm not sure why that would be, but i've noticed it. Still, ernie b is the best in the business as far as i'm concerned, even in spite of the recent changes which not everyone seems to like. I'm still grateful he does what he does, and my record collection is certainly better for it.

well as long as Your record collection is better for it, that's the important thing.
I don't limit myself to LP's I'm afraid so once again I say he has none of the latest onlyroots, buyreggae, reggae fever, iroko reissues & is sadly lacking in stocking more recent releases as well.
Cheers

I was happy to see this filter as well. I DEFINITELY love the awesome service at Ernie B's and was disheartened to see other genres show up there as well - they were crowding out my beloved reggae titles. But now it's as easy as a click to filter out the other stuff - although there IS some great stuff in there as well! I think we all win...flashman wrote:There is also a reggae-only filter up and running now, which is a nice improvement.
