My point is that someone like Flabba is bound to get shaded when you have Sugar Minott, Gregory Isaacs, Barry Brown, Johnnie Clarke, Ken Boothe, Bob Marley, David Isaacs, George Faith, Burning Spear and so so many more GREAT reggae singers, .

He sings better than some (including me!!!), for sure, but many others sing far far better.

Was a joke rootsman!

I fronted a punk band in 1978/79 called 'The Slabs'. My singing was really very awful but then it didn't really matter then with that musical style!

I would love to have been gifted with the talent to sing, as I do admire a great singer and love to hear an especially good human voice.

So like I said, I can't really complain too much about Flabba's voice as it is far far better than I could do.

And I do like the Visions of Africa LP a lot- it was one of my special favourites when I was a teenager, because I feel he makes up for lack of a wonderful voice with real, deep roots feeling.

I have to say each to his own arize rootsman as I absolutely love his voice.

Incidentally, I personally would buy the Original Music reissue/repress for "Fly Your Dread" and "Fly Your Dread Version". Scorching tracks with a completely different feel to the rest of the album.

That said I will try and track down an original copy of the album.

Incidentally, the first time I heard Flabba's vocals was on "Message From The King", which I bought in 1978, but I only recently found out it was his voice. I then bought "Silver & Gold" and again his voice cropped up. Absolutely superb as far as I am concerned. I bought "Visions of..." on the back of that and, although the sound is poor I still play the album a lot.

Other vocalists I love and also seem to get short shrift are;
Barrington Spence
Roman Stewart
Carlton Livingston
