Are there any verified official records to confirm Mr R Dread REALLY died in Jail, or is that just another uconfirmed tale.

Somehow I don't believe R. Dread really mixed tunes like "Shut Me Mouth" himself, although he gets credit for it. It sounds like it was done by someone with a lot of mixing experience.

By the way if you like "Shut Me Mouth" you must check the Dennis Brown original "Break Down The Barriers".

The Art and Craft "Disco EP Showcase" with "Hard Times Leave Me Life" and "My Liza" sounds like it was just him voicing over dub plates, it's got that minimal flat sort of production, but pretty heavy duty all the same, haven't played it for a while but will dig it out soon!

pretty interesting stuff. i just bought that ranking dread/massive dread reissue. killer stuff. ranking dread burns every track he touches. his best work in my opinion.

I'm actually thinking of deleting that info on the Stand Firm pre-release since I can't find any notes on where I got that information. I'm not fond of putting up details on things that I'm not positive are true and that detail has bugged me for some while. Searching through my notes on Ranking Dreads discog and I can't find the info again on how many copies where pressed.
