Good question! I've been rebuilding my board for the last six months and have found these pedals to do a great job. I'm playing a Fender Deluxe HSS Strat into a Fender Pro reissue.
Boss RE-20 Space Echo - amazing pedal that's a wicked recreation of the Roland Space Echo. Wonderful sound....I could not do without this pedal!
Electro Harmonix Small Stone Nano Phaser - for that classic phaser sound.
Electro Harmonix Holy Grail Nano Reverb - very nice digital reverb. I use the spring reverb on the Fender Pro for my main reverb, but drop this in for those huge cavernous reverbs when we dub things up.
Keeley Electronics Compressor - this pedal was expensive, but worth every penny. The sound is just fuller, more balanced and stronger all round. It's fantastic for a funky, Nile Rodgers tone (which is what I bought it for) but I am using this pretty much all the time now.
Way Huge Pork Loin - strictly speaking, this is an overdrive pedal, but am using this as a clean boost for lead and stick-picking parts.
Vox 487 Wah
Full rig is as follows:
Guitar >>> Korg Pitchblack >>> Keeley Compressor >>> Keeley DS-1 Ultra Distortion >>> Way Huge Pork Loin >>> Vox 487 >>> Fender Pro Reverb
In the loop.... EHX Small Stone Nano >>> EHX Holy Grail Nano >>> Boss RE-20 Space Echo
I'm really happy with this rig and am getting a lot of wicked sounds out of it. The other guys are on this thread are right though - these pedals may add a lot of tasty flavours to the sound, but the real business is going on in your hands
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Luke
