Re: Dillinger..
i'm listening to "cornbread" the song now, and it sounds pretty good. It reminds me, tbh, of super ape. what with all the slow, hazy chanting. but it is also quite funky, in a way

Re: Dillinger..
strangely the track Cornbread does not realy sound in the same vien as the rest of the album.
I would also like to take back the remarks i made about the Bunny Lee tracks i have 2 compilations of them plus the Marujahna in my brain cd. .and if I was honest, i should play them more as I seem to rembember realy enjoying some of the heavier stuff.
As for taste, it must be a good artist who can do a little of something for every one.. I personaly think it is a common misconception that if something is comercial it is not as good.

Re: Dillinger..
It's funny that this thread of Dillinger came up. I was thinking about starting one this week. I realized that Dillinger is actually my favorite early DJ. I've been playing the the CD which includes both CB200 and Bionic Dread eveyday in my car for the past month without changing it. CB200 and Bionic Dread is what did it for me in the 70's. I just love the Channel One Sound. He actually mixes cultural/concious lyrics with a dash of fun in a clever way. Notice some of the words he uses just to make them rhyme with another, pretty funny at times. Definately CB200 and Bionic Dread. I like the Cornbread Album too. It was a little different but worked for me.

Re: Dillinger..
anyone else buy the ten to one album by dillinger that seems to have come out/been reissued recently?
the dub side is enjoyable, but dillinger sounds so old on the vocal disc. not recommended

Re: Dillinger..
In their best 125 Dub records Black Echoes was listing a Dillinger record titled "Ranking Dillinger In Dub" (on Jackpot).
Does anybody here know this record?
I've never seen it or even heard about it somewhere else.
On "Ranking Dillinger Non Stop Disco Style", which so far is also my fave Dillinger LP, are a few dubs, but it's not the record mentioned by Black Echoes.
Anybody any ideas?
