anything that features incessant cuts of johnny clarke crooning bag o wire is a definite non starter for me.there are stacks of such rancid albums out there.

The worst I have is Sly & Robbie's 'Raiders of the lost Dub'.
'Too many cooks spoil the mash'! The overdubs are soooo terrible!!!
Sean - you should give 'Kamikaz' a 2nd chance!

well, that was just my opinion, one that no one else appears to share...but generally i am a fan of jammy when he has done dub, but kamikaze i really wasnt impressed by really.

i agree that king curtis was awesome!! i have yet to hear any king curtis i didn't like (for those that aren't familiar, he was a killer jazz saxaphonist).
i also agree, that any dub i have gotten off rhino label, is pretty much garbage, minus a few tracks here and there. but i wonder about the legitness of what i do own off rhino.
and i must admit that i don't like mad professor's stuff, despite the fact that i enjoy lots of pyschedelic music. i personally don't like much digital input in music, so mad prof is more or less out for me.

I have a lot of absolutely superb music on Rhino. (None of it reggae).
The last album I bought (as mentioned earlier in on this thread) was "King Curtis Live At Fillmore West" (Deluxe Edition)and it is an absolute scorcher -http://www.rhino.com/store/ProductDetai ... mber=77632
The only reggae albums they appear to be involved with are both by Steel Pulse; "True Democracy (Expanded & Remastered)"; "Earth Crisis (Expanded & Remastered)" - http://www.rhino.com/store/ArtistCatalo ... el%20Pulse
All of which reinforces what both Juha and Jackie P pointed out earlier.

Well the beauty of it all is we all enjoy n love reggae, sharing different viewpoints is what it is all about isnt it? And i got one album, surely the worlds worst, named THE BEST REGGAE ALBUM IN THE WORLD.. it is dreadful stuff, but track 4 is Kingston dub bus by Jacques Camus,a sweet dub track that i love..so we all see ups n downs when it comes to reggae dont we?
