I have had a vinyl rip of this for a few years (can't say what the provenance is) but the issues described on this thread are there as well. My guess is that either the original master is flawed or the PS release was taken from similar issue vinyl as my rip. May not be the fault of PS ultimately, but some disclaimers may have helped if they were using a flawed source. In the end it is everybody's individual decision as to whether these flaws on a few tracks detract enough from the entirety of the release to warrant not hearing/owning it.

I just received my vinyl copy. Great album! I love it and don't care at all about the so called sound problems. Yeah a couple tunes sound a bit rough. I've got no problem with it and am glad I went ahead and bought it. I do have two questions: 1) why is this titled Reggae in Jazz? It's just an early reggae instrumental lp. 2) why is it credited to Tommy McCook? There's more organ and melodica on it than saxophone.
