I went there a couple of times to do business with the University and my brother lived there briefly (no idea where), but can't say I know it particularly well.

How long have you lived there?

Been here just a year now.

I'm a southerner gone north. Been in Lincolnshire for 14 years now but recently moved into Lincoln to escape the hell that is small Lincolnshire town life!

The place is really changing, for the better, mainly due to the Uni.

It might even get hip enough to warrant a full blown reggae night someday!

Leggo Rocker, no plans to sell the KEFs just yet as I keep hoping I'll get the space to get them set up again, but I'll keep you in mind. Buy Off the Bar- good album but shockingly bad pressing?

On the Jesco turntable- Them Never Know Natty Dread Have Credential lp (Don Carlos and Gold), Fire Corner- King Stitt (original pre), Lu Bi Lu- Michigan and Smiley Volcano 7" (mostly for young sons' benefit but I love it too). Also Robert Johnson King of the Delta Blues Singers Vol 2 but that's another story.

Yes, Charley Patton was pretty good (until the bottle got the better of him I recall from one of the Yazoo album sleeves). Him and Kokomo Arnold were probably the biggest influences on Johnson I guess. I'm a bit of an amateur as regards the blues though, just like a bit of the old delta/country/bottleneck stuff from time to time.

Our paths have definitely crossed - Essex, Hampshire, Sussex, London. The latter for about 16 years.Thankfully the new boy only a couple of times.
