Wow, I'm just reading this announcement for the first time. I do appreciate all the hard work it takes to make something like this and I understand how altering the structure of your database into something that can accept contributions is not as easy as it sounds.
I really look forward to the soul-archives site. I've realized over time that I love the reggae that I love because of the soul element within it, and I'd love to see what you guys do with such a site.
I'm also extremely pleased to see that you guys are expanding your range to include a longer period of music. I also don't like later music, but I have often wished I could find some of the earlier stuff on this site.
Kudos to you all.

Looks like its been four years now. I wonder if and when we'll see Seb and the crew on the new sites?

Re: The future Of Roots Archives
I haven't found the time yet, but I have been thinking of having a proper chat with both Seb and Mat and see if I can take over the website. I would need someone with advanced knowledge of php (to start with), prefgerably someone with a passion to help and run this site on a voluntary basis.
Over the past few years I have had some nice ideas (imo) to use for this website. Hopefully one day soon, these ideas can materialize.
