What are these 2 bootleg videos someone mentioned of Hugh Mundell, are you sure??? i'd be very surprised if this is true, i've never seen any hugh mundell videos circulating until this new release...

One was recorded at keystone berkeley 5-30-82.
The audio set of this show is quite easy to find online..

The other one is from the same tour, recorded in LA a couple of days later..

The audio that circulates is an audience tape recording, as far as I'm aware, and is not sourced from a video.

The DVD tracks:
1. "Frozen Dub" from Japan Splash 1986
2. "Rockers Rock" from PitSplash Japan 1988
3. Impromptu performance footage of Pablo playing guitar and melodica, with Hugh Mundell singing, by a river in Jamaica. This was filmed in 1979...as part of the filming for the documentary on Soul Syndicate entitled 'Word, Sound and Power' which was released in 1980.
4. Interview footage of Pablo...from 1979...

The first two have been available in various formats since VHS-days in the late 1980s.

The session material featuring Hugh Mundell is less than 3 minutes and he is not performing one of his songs, just improvising, though beautifully, along the chords strummed by Pablo.

Yes, it is the same track. Pablo is playing the acoustic guitar and mundell is singing that same song that appears on youtube as "Clean Up Your Heart" (though nowhere on the dvd it says the track name).

Then afterwards pablo plays a bit of melodia and then mundell sings "Nature Provides" ina different style over pablo's melodica.

Then after that, pablo gives a real short interview... this whole section lasts about 10 min, and it was recorded in 1979, by the same guys that made the soul syndicate doc. "word sound and power", with dallas rogers as the interviewer.

Although it's really a short footage, the dvd is great just for that part itself. I've always wanted to see some video footage of mundell and I never knew if I'd ever have the chance. Now I had it and I really loved it, it only makes me admire the works of mundell along with pablo even more.

IMHO, the whole box is worth a while, it's really a great and beautiful work done by shanachie. Besides the 4 cd's and the DVD, the boxset itself is incredible, with never seen before photos and a great 20-page booklet, all together making a beautiful package and a nice tribute to the late great Augustus Pablo, one of the greatest and certainly the most innovative artist ever from JA.
