Black Uhuru with Michael Rose was allot more roots than black uhuru with Don Carlos. Michael Rose made Black Uhuru one of the greatest in reggae. this is only my opinion please don't get mad. :D

TRUE BUT DON CARLOS STILL STAYS ON TOP OF MICHAEL ROSE, JUNIOR REID, AND ANDREW BEES BACK FROM THE EARLY 80'S TILL NOW DON CARLOS IS A LEGEND AND STILL STAYS TRUE TO HIS ROOTS

Hi People

Here in this interview with don carlos, you can find a lot of information about black uhuru`s early days:

http://unitedreggae.com/articles/n407/0 ... don-carlos

The first line up was don, garth and duckie, they recorded 2 singles without success, Duckie left, everybody left...but after a while duckie came back and joined with Michael rose and Errol nelson...the rest you can read in this very nice interview

RAs,

The best Black Uhuru sounds i enjoy most are those that were played when the band was made up of Michael Rose (aka Toney),Errol and Duckie Simpson.I like the male backind vocals from tunes like,Rent man,Wood for my fire (Hard Times)and the whole original 'Love crisis',when the band used to be called 'Black sounds uhro'

Kandi.
