Sean, nice rich topic. and Trevor, tremendous. From here the UK Bubblers record by Lesley Lyrics call 'Blind Date' is just the funniest on Creation. Clearly English toasters took up the baton and finished the dj race from the mid 80's. and Macka B, what an enormous talent, never a mindless moment.

Re: uk reggae and uk bubblers
thanks utodd.macka b is very under rated and highly understated in general but he must surely have a very big fan base too..cos his lyrics have remained top notch for 23 years, very rarely do you even find a hint of slackness, just roots and culture with a very witty take on life in uk in particular

Re: uk reggae and uk bubblers
Laurel & Hardy anyone ?
Great album from 1983 "What a Bargain" on Upright label. Produced by Chris Lane right before his Fashion label went big.
Tracklist
a1 Instrument
a2 Speedin'
a3 A-Tish-oo
a4 Junction Rock
a5 Three Man Toasting (with Papa Face)
b1 Video Traffickin'
b2 Look out
b3 Dangerous Shoes
b4 Tantual Youth
Still one of my faves, better than Eastwood & Saints "Stop that Train" album imho.
