Heard Desmond Dekker and Johnny Nash on AM radio somewhere in the late 60s, early 70s. Teenage angst and ganja brought Ras Bob to me in High School--'73 or so. Started collecting in '78 when I heard the Clash, PIL, the Slits, and Patti Smith.

Started in the 70's when my Dad would play Bob Marley albums all the time. I still have his original vinyl copies including Catch A Fire & Burning.
Never though about it until now but stopped listening to Reggae after 1984 (when my Dad passed on) and have not listened to a BMW track since.
Got back into Reggae about 5 years ago and have been playing catch up since. I am amazed at the amount that is now available compared to the late 70's & early 80's. The Internet has definitley helped particularly site like this and mail order sites have made buying easier.
My oldest daughter regualry asks "Dad are to trying to buy every Reggae song ever made" "Yes" is the reply.
