"Dmille, did you have to turn John Public's simple inquiry into an attack on an entire religion?"

If you had cared to read it, you would have seen that I wrote about seeing the faith of true Islam in the hearts of those who voted in the elections in Iraq and Afghanistan. AND I said that I saw the faith of true Islam in the heart of those Lebanonese who are demanding the end of Syrian domination of their government.

Is that an attack on an entire religion?

"And by the way, the reason no Muslim nation came to the aid of the Bosnians, Afghans or anyone else is because there are no Islamic nations in the world anymore. Most countries with Muslim majorities are secular and those that claim to be Islamic are autocratic dictatorships. Take it from a real Muslim telling you that there hasn't been an Islamic nation in hundreds of years."

Universal Islamic Declaration of Human Rights

X Rights of Minorities

a) The Qur'anic principle "There is no compulsion in religion" shall govern the religious rights of non-Muslim minorities.

b) In a **MUSLIM COUNTRY**, religious minorities shall have the choice to be governed in respect of their civil and personal matters by Islamic Law, or by their own laws.

XXIII Right to Freedom of Movement and Residence

a) In view of the fact that the World of Islam is veritably Ummah Islamia, every Muslim shall have the right to freely move in and out of any **MUSLIM COUNTRY**.

"And when I asked that question. I wanted to listen to some good islamic reggae. And I asked "Do you know some good islamic reggae records?" That is my only question I asked. I didn't ask you "What do you think about islamic reggae?""

I thought that this was a public forum where anyone who cared to register can voice their opinions on any subject within the context of the topic. I didn't know I needed your permission before voicing my opinion(s).

"And I also didn't ask you "what about the americans and the iraq war?""

I am quite certain that anyone who cares to can go back to the second page [my mistake it is on the third page-dmille] of this thread and read who it was that first raised the issue of the Iraq war.

Yeah it was me who mentioned the iraq war. But it was a reaction to tell you that not only muslims doing wrong. I have nothing against a discussion but you taking it much too personal. I didn't doubt your integrity why you doubt mine?. Who give you the right to judge me by writing "I hate War (Oh I'm such a saint?" I never said that I am a saint. I said I hate War and that war is not the answer to any kind of question. By listening to reggae music you should have realised that war is only to destroy.

Listen to Songs like

"No Nuclear War" Peter Tosh
"Desert Storm" Alpha Blondy
"War" by Bob Marley
"Easy Mr. Bush" Sugar Minott
"Stop Your Fighting" Dennis Brown

But when you still say that I am a dreamer a saint. I'd rather be a dreamer than promoting any war

It seems that there is a kind of brainwashing going on in america. Everyone I know who comes from america, tells me that the war is right. Don't you know by invading their country you giving the taliban the right to say "look what they do, they invade your country". I am horrofied that you didn't even mention the israelis. Imagine someone comes and takes your country. How would you react? What I see is that the american supports the israelis and ignore the interest of palestinians. In my eyes THAT is OPPRESSION. And if you count all those points where muslims did not react right, I can mention: Do You know Rodney King? And that is not the only case where blacks have been discriminated.

@Guido

I mean reggae done by muslims. OK Guido I am also interested in arabic reggae. Like I wrote in the first mail I collect many kind of reggae. And now it's that what I am looking for. Usually I get what I am looking for (unfortunately not always). Ok you said it could be a mine field. But it was a simple question that you can answer with yes (I know Islamic Records) or No (Sorry I can't help you). But that's ok because I am still looking for islamic reggae. If someone doesn't agree with my taste it's ok. In the area I live not many people listen to reggae so I can't ask them. Although we have here some good reggae artists. Do you know Gentleman?

hI rollergirl,

yeah I'm sure Alpha is no muslims. Members of his Solar System Band are muslims. He would call himself a rastafarian (but more in global way by combining all religions together to make them one) He sang in his song "god is one" "..like a tree with many branches (he is) many in one..."

Yes John, I know Gentleman: I bought one of his records in my effort to enjoy contemporary - not modern! - roots; but the more I struggle the more I get entangled, and I just can bring myself to like this stuff. I can't do anything about it, it just don't go anywhere.
I am sorry but I can't help you with islamic reggae; I have got some Italian stuff, if you are interested in it.
By the way, not many people listen to reggae in ANY area: that's why we are all hung on this kind of sites from all over the world. We are voices - and ears - in the desert.

You can't stop tyranny with dreams or with a skanking riddim.

@ Guido

Oh you are so right. I guess the only place where many people listen to reggae is jamaica :-) I guess maybe you would like Patrice more. Patrice is also a german artist. His album "Patrice meets Silly Walks Movement" is very great.

Of course I am interested in Italian Reggae. What kind of sound is this? Can you name the groups?

@ Dmille:

Maybe you are right that riddim cannot stop tyranny. But still I like the Idea that Garnet Silk mentioned "Music Is The Rod and We are Moses" or the Idea of Daweh Congo "Only A Ridim can make the angels sing". I am also a musician, maybe this is the reason why music is so important to me
