Luckily, I have a Dutch step mother so I have no problem watching the Dutch do well.
Sure, it would have been great if England had qualified but then miracles are few and far between in a dis ya time.

Miracles do happen sometimes. I mean: Holland beating Italy and France in one week. Even the most positive Oranje fan could not have predicted this. Let's hope and pray we did not peak too early in the tournament. I can see both Italy and Germany getting stronger.

Re: EURO 2008
hi taco. i wouldnt bet on italy, they usually have a top team but this time they are lacking something.they should have more youth in the squad.upfront toni is terrible, he has had many many chances and dosent impress me. i think italy will be shown up against spain. spain have quality throughout, and their pace and movement will cause the italians plenty problems. henry has had a tournament he will want to forget too, certainly not the same player that terrorised teams in the uk a few years ago. he should have scored at least 4 or 5 goals with the chances he's wasted. as for miracles, i dont think holland beating france and italy and now romania in the last few days is a miracle. they are a class act, and they have everything techniqally. most of their goals have been counter attacks, and its hard to defend against their wingers' pace. last night they rested some players and can still call on van persie and arjan robben who would get on any other team in the tournament. i think this dutch team will making headlines for a few years to come.

i just checked out Luca Toni on Wikipedia, i see he has an excellent scoring record at club level, sometimes at least in the recent past. However he looks awful in this tournament. Actually im half Italian and love Italy the country.

@ital kemar: agree that Holland has got an amazing bench with players like Van Persie, Robben, Huntelaar and Vennegoor of Hesselink. If Toni fails for Italy (like he has been doing so far) who will Donadoni play then?

Re: EURO 2008
well i think, like france, italy need a complete overhaul after these finals. there must be some youngsters coming through the ranks that are chomping at the bit for a chance. i know both countries have fantastic youth development systems in place. maybe both managers were wary of trying out the younger players at this level. but you can be sure both will be a force again very soon.
as for your question, i know he has del piero sitting on the bench, but this is surely his last major competition too. too old, and not hungry enough some of these players. italy go into their next game minus gattusso and pirlo (i think), thats two of their better players gone. so maybe we might see some new faces then....
