i listened to a certain Rhino album called THE LATE GREAT JACKIE MITTOO. Fairly abysmal it is too, with weak, tuneless dubs littering a very , very, poor album. A typical Rhino release indeed.

Just go to http://www.roots-archives.com/release/1710 and click on the label image - "All tracks Written, Produced and Arranged by Roy Cousins".

Hi Sean

Is this an issue with reggae in particular on Rhino?
The reason I ask is because I have just bought "King Curtis Live at Fillmore West" on Rhino and it is an absolutely scorching record that leaps out of the speakers.
I nearly didn't buy it because of the bad press Rhino seems get on this site. So pleased I did.

who,s king curtis? is it mr mayfield?
i have heard many rhino releases, and barring one great jah thomas dub release, theyve been spectacularly bad, with terrible vocal intros as if a circus ringmaster was introducing a clown, weak, scratchy, tinny, tuneless dub..and they give fake credits to artists. fancy associating scientist or tubby with some of the crap that they released in their names!!
