RIP Lloyd Knibb os The Skatalites

The man died Thursday in Jamaica.
His last performance and perhaps the last Skatalites show ever was in Lima, Peru on march.

A great drummer...I'm happy I could see him once.
Lloyd Brevet (although he stopped playing live with the Skatalites) and Lester Sterling (alto sax) are the only original members still alive...
I was talking once to the drummer of the NewYorkSkaJazzEnsemble, a huge guy I think born in Congo, he talked about a gig they did with the Skatalites and about Knibb and how great the guy was, "he plays harder than me!!!!"
