Once I bought a rare 12" from a professional UK ebay seller. It arrived and was unplayable. Vinyl looked like toasted. Not meaning, there was a DJ on the riddim.....but it really looked burned, warped, absolutely trashy.
Seller offered to return the record. After I did on my own expense, he refused any refund, any discussion. Just repeated some stupid..."You´re trying to con me, you´re trying to con me", labba.
12" gone, dunny gone....babylon experience!

a few years back i had stored all my vinyl lp, 12" discos, 10" and 45s all in flight cases. then decided to put them away in my closet. thought it wuold be the safest place for them, since it was the coolest place in my house, away from the sun and the heat. one day, coming from work, i noticed my whole entire closet was flooded in sewage water. my closet which was adjacent to my bathroom was the cause of it all, from my shower that had some plumbing issues. i dove in to salvage all my vinyl out my closet and upon inspection, i noticed that none of the vinyl which i considered precious to me were untouched from the filthy water. maybe because, i previously put plastic sleeves on all the vinyl that i thought were rare gems. i think that may of help the most, but i think it also helped that the interior part of my 12"/LP flight cases were lined with a rubber wetsuit type of material. it soaked up most of the water. as far as my 45 case, it held up pretty well, but had no rubber lining inside, but was sealed pretty well. but again, my 45s were saved because of the plastic sleeves. but the 45s i didn't really care about that i didn't plastic sleeved up were just some late 90s to 2000 material. the vinyl were soaked and ended up with some filthy residue on them and the paper sleeves just fell apart. i was so releived that none of my favorites didn't fall into the same fate as the weaker one's i disregarded.
